Me and some...creature in the Xinyi Commercial District.

In the night markets, at festivals, and in various vendor stalls are these awful megaphones that
announce (very loudly) things like specials, sales, promotions, etc. It's quite a cacophony when they compete for your attention.

A parade makes it way down SongSin Road.

A god falls behind and rushes to catch up.

Precious.

Trevor walking past the main hall in Longshan Temple.

Incense, flowers, and fruit at Longshan Temple.

The woman I bought souvenirs from in front of Longshan Temple. I showed her this picture in the camera screen and she laughed a little and said one word but I have no idea what it was.

Hwahsi night market in Wanhua District, the oldest district in Taipei.

Simending Shopping District (Taipei's answer to Tokyo's Shinjuku District--their words, not mine).

Couple in Simending.

In Simending there is a mall called Shinjuku Plaza that is full of these little hallway/closet stores.

Happy chicken in Simending.

Ching Shan Temple in Wanhua District.

On the third floor of Ching Shan Temple.

Ching Shan roof. Trevor took this picture.

Inside Ching Shan Temple.

A dragon ball inside Ximen Station. The spitting dragon fountain keeps the marble ball constantly rolling.

Axa and Trevor in front of a restaurant in Beitou up in the mountains outside of Taipei.

They had these little semi-outdoor rooms to eat in. The burner is for the soup.

Our feast in the mountains.

The main building of the restaurant.

Photography students practicing wedding portraiture behind the Beitou Hot Springs Museum.

People wade in the warm stream in the middle of the volcanic terrain that makes up Beitou, which was a popular place in WWII for Japanese troops on R&R. It's still the best place close to Taipei to enjoy hot-spring bathing.
